Our Board of Directors
La Clínica del Cariño’s board of directors are all Columbia Gorge community members and over half are clinic patients. The board of directors volunteers their time to advise us on how best to serve the community, and to ensure that we are doing the work we are committed to doing.
We very much appreciate their time and dedication so that La Clínica del Cariño can provide medical and dental services to our Gorge community.
Board Members
Mark Flaming - Board Chair
Mark is a development finance specialist and private consultant. He joined the board in 2008.
Gary Young - Board Vice-Chair
Gary is the retired Director of Mission and Spiritual care at Providence Hospital in Hood River. He joined the board in 2007.
Susan Gabay - Treasurer
Susan is Program Manager with the Oregon Department of Human Services District 9. She joined the board in 1991.
Jovil Galvez- Secretary
Jovil is the retired Prevention Specialist for Hood River Schools. He joined the board in 1995.
Serafin Torres
Serafin is a Gorge farmworker. He joined the board in 2000.
John Jessup
John is a registered nurse and faculty in the Oregon Health Science University School of Nursing. He joined the board in 2008.
Lorena Lowell
Lorena is a local business owner and president of Bambino's International Learning Center. She rejoined the board in 2008.
Dave Mason
Dave is Director of Transfer and Pre-College Programs with Columbia Gorge Community College. He joined the board in 2008.
Maria Elena Castro
Maria Elena is the Community Outreach Manager with Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital. She joined the board in 2008.
